In North America, a larger proportion of the respondents were from medium sized universities (51%), while 58% of the institutions were government run. There was a good sample across the tiers of universities.
In Western Europe, 47% of respondents were from medium sized universities and 38% from large institutions. Government run institutions accounted for most of the sample and there was a good spread across the different tiers of university.
We have seen several changes to teaching spaces in higher education institutions across North America and Western Europe, with adaptations taking place in computer common areas to create more collaborative and flexible spaces for students. In some cases, this has meant reducing the number of computers to offer more study space and to allow students to bring their own devices.
