ӏn 2024, global Pro AV value reached $75 billion*, with Professional Displays the largest constituent sector.
Global Professional Displays value is set to rise to by +4% this year, 2025 and is undergoing significant structural change:
LED displays (DVLED) are the clear growth engine, projected to dominate Professional Displays globally in value by 2029, driven by falling ASPs and innovations such as Flip Chip CoB, MiniLED and emerging CoG MicroLED.
MicroLED technologies are disruptive, with CoB mass production achieved in 2024 and CoG commercialisation expected in the early 2030s. LED price erosion is accelerating, particularly for ultra-narrow pixel pitch LED.
LCD (FPD, Tiled LCD Displays/Video Wall, and IFPD) remains significant (over 50% of global Professional Displays value in 2025), but faces gradual decline, with an expected -10% global value drop from 2025 to 2029)
Projection continues to shrink. Over the 2018 to 2028 period, it is expected to fall by -68% in global value. Nevertheless, niches remain for Projection, due to scalability and functionality that LCD or LED displays cannot replicate.
Global Professional Displays value is expected to grow by +18.9% (+3.5% CAGR) from 2024 to 2029. Success in this sector will hinge on innovation, differentiation, and adaptation to evolving customer needs across corporate, education, signage, control room and experiential applications. LED will drive future growth, while LCD and projection commoditise.
