AI, AV/IT convergence and experience-led innovation define InfoComm 2026, says Futuresource

With optimism running high and AI embedded across the show floor, InfoComm 2026 marked a clear inflection point for the professional AV industry. Futuresource Consulting’s latest post-show report cuts through the noise, distilling the key trends, product launches and strategic shifts shaping the market’s next phase.

Despite lingering macroeconomic uncertainty, the mood on the ground told a different story. Strong attendance, growing end-user presence and a clear focus on innovation signalled a confident, forward-looking industry, one that is evolving rapidly in both structure and strategy.

“InfoComm 2026 didn’t just showcase innovation, it confirmed a structural shift in how the AV industry operates.” commented Alistair Johnston, Head of Pro AV and Collaboration at Futuresource Consulting. ” We’re seeing a decisive move toward software-led, IT-aligned and experience-driven solutions. For vendors and channel players alike, success will depend on how effectively they can integrate intelligence, simplify deployment and deliver measurable user value.”

AI moves from ambition to application

Artificial intelligence was no longer positioned as future potential, but as a core capability embedded across AV solutions. From intelligent video bars and automated camera tracking to predictive system management, AI is now fundamental to delivering performance, efficiency and better user experiences.

AV and IT convergence accelerates

One of the most significant shifts highlighted in the report is the continued convergence of AV and IT. Decision-making authority is increasingly moving toward IT teams, driving demand for cloud-based platforms, remote management and software-defined solutions. As a result, the industry is transitioning from device-focused deployments to integrated, experience-led ecosystems.

Collaboration and management enter a new phase

The collaboration space continues to evolve, with video bars maintaining strong momentum as organisations prioritise simplicity and scalability in hybrid environments. At the same time, room and device management is undergoing a transformation, as automation, data insights and centralised control become critical to managing growing AV estates efficiently.

Displays innovation shifts beyond hardware

In the professional display segment, the emphasis is moving away from pure hardware innovation toward platforms, integration and sustainability. Technologies such as e-paper and next-generation LED are gaining traction, while vendors increasingly position themselves as end-to-end solution providers.

A more intelligent, immersive AV ecosystem

Across audio and video, the shift toward IP-based infrastructure, cloud platforms and immersive experiences is now firmly established. Broadcast-quality production capabilities are moving into enterprise environments, while AV-over-IP and open standards continue to reshape system design.

The Futuresource InfoComm 2026 Post-Show Report provides a comprehensive analysis of the trends redefining the Pro AV landscape, offering actionable insights for vendors, integrators and end users navigating an increasingly complex and competitive market.
